Dieng area contains of natural resource of geothermal energy which is used to support power plants. The location of geothermal energy source is specifically located in two sub-districts; Batur Sub-district of Banjarnegara Regency and Kejajar sub-district of Wonosobo Regency. The area of the source is 107.351.995 ha. The development of geothermal energy source research was conducted under Dutch governance in 1918. Later, UNESCO stated Dieng as geothermal energy source in 1964/1965 and determined that its development is potential in Indonesia. Geothermal well has 1500 – 2000 m depth and the supply of geothermal energy available is around 280 – 340 MW.
